Collaboration

The project will build upon previously-established collaborations with research organisations in Belgium, Japan and Australia, and develop new links in the United States.

  • Prof Shigeki Tsuchihashi, Professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, hosted a seminar by Dr Neil on 'Dream Interpretation in the Alexandrian Milieu', an annual meeting of the Japanese Patristics Society (President: Prof Kazuhiko Demura) at Chuo University, Tokyo, on 5 September 2014. The paper is published in Japanese and can be found on Academia (LINK UNDER CONSTRUCtiON).

  • Australian Catholic University has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. This MOU formalises existing relationships between members of the Theology Faculty in Leuven and the Centre for Early Christian Studies at ACU that go back more than 30 years. Dr Neil will be a visiting professor at KULeuven in September 2016.

  • Dr Neil will undertake research at Dumbarton Oaks Byzantine Studies Center, Harvard University, Georgetown. This is the premier centre for Byzantine Studies in the world, with a two-day international research symposium in May each year.

Both the Centre for Early Christian Studies, in which this project will be located, and the Centre for Inter-Religious Dialogue, are now incorporated into Australian Catholic University (ACU)’s Institute for Religion and Critical Enquiry, which will provide greater avenues for inter-disciplinary collaboration and public outreach. Such outreach will include presentation of findings to the public. Click here for details (LINK UNDER CONSTRUCTION).
